Kenny Mendelsohn

Admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1980

Kenny served for a year as a law clerk for the Honorable Truman Hobbs, U.S. District Court Judge in the Middle District of Alabama. In 1981, he joined the staff of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney where he worked as a prosecutor until 1983. He then became a partner in one of Alabama's largest plaintiff-oriented firms and practiced as a plaintiff's attorney for nine years. In 1992, he and colleague Mays Jemison formed Jemison & Mendelsohn.

He shares a love of sports with his wife Tracey and their two sons. In his free time, he coaches little league baseball and basketball. Kenny is a frequent public speaker on the subject of litigation involving car and truck collisions, and is a published author.

Mays Jemison

Mays served as Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama in 1979 before starting his own firm. He operated a general practice with a concentration on personal injury and wrongful death claims. He worked frequently on cases with Kenny Mendelsohn, and in 1988 joined Kenny and his partners in a firm that grew to become one of Alabama's largest plaintiff-oriented firms. In 1992, he co-founded Jemison & Mendelsohn with colleague Kenny Mendelsohn.

He and his wife Susan are members of the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery. He shares his love of hunting and fishing with his two sons. He enjoys spending time on the tennis court and visiting with his daughter and grandson.

Tommy James

Tommy was familiar with Jemison & Mendelsohn's method of working with clients. An internship at the firm allowed him to delve further into the character of the practice, where he discovered a supportive atmosphere and common values. He familiarized himself with the client-centered operations of the office, then joined Jag Trading as an associate in 1997. Four years later he became a full partner and shareholder in Jemison, Mendelsohn & James.

Tommy maintains connections with his alma mater as an active member in the university's Alumni Association and Bar Association. He and his wife Alison are avid sports fans. They enjoy spending time in the stands at football, baseball and basketball games.

Ellenann is licensed to practice before the Alabama Circuit Courts, the Alabama Supreme Court, and the Federal Courts of the Southern and Middle Districts of Alabama.

Ellenann interned with Jemison, Mendelsohn & James while in law school. She joined the firm as an Associate in 2002.
